UNITED WAY’S STUDENTS LIVE UNITED PROGRAM HOSTS ZUMBA FUNDRAISER THIS WEEKEND

Greater Ottawa County United Way’s Students LIVE UNITED program is hosting a Zumba fundraiser this Saturday, December 5 from 11:00am-noon at Hope College’s Maas Center located at 264 Columbia Ave. in Holland. Come dressed in comfortable clothes and be ready to move! Suggested donations are $5 per person and $3 per student. Donations benefit Students LIVE UNITED, which is a volunteer program for high school students run by Greater Ottawa County United Way.

The Students LIVE UNITED program provides high school students with support, mentoring, coaching, and the tools they need to locate volunteer opportunities, log their experiences, and participate in job partnering opportunities in the community. During their senior year, students complete an essay and portfolio. Students who successfully complete 400 service hours receive the Governor’s Student Service Award of Excellence and the Michigan Volunteer Center Medallion. Students who complete 100 hours of service receive an award from Greater Ottawa County United Way.
