ALLEGAN COUNTY UNITED WAY KICKS OFF COMMUNITY CAMPAIGN DURING 1ST ANNUAL DAY OF CARING

On Thursday, October 5, Allegan County United Way hosted its first annual Day of Caring throughout the county. More than 150 volunteers headed out into local communities to assist nonprofit organizations with 20-plus projects. Director of Volunteer Engagement Susan Henderson said, “Today provided such an impactful gift to our nonprofit partners and a rewarding experience for the volunteers. We are grateful for the support of the local businesses and organizations that have made our first annual Day of Caring a success.”

Day of Caring volunteers gathered for lunch at Rockwell Automation, where Allegan County United Way kicked off its 2017-18 annual community campaign. During the luncheon, Allegan County United Way Director of Community Impact Debbie Jennings announced this year’s campaign goal of $800,000, and Susan Henderson announced a goal of recruiting 500 volunteers.
