Our Work

United Way of Ottawa and Allegan Counties support, develop and implement a range of impact solutions that improve lives and create stronger communities.

Last year, 101,000+ people in Ottawa County, and 6,817 people in Allegan County were positively impacted by our funded programs and partnerships.

United Way takes a research-based approach to our work. We start by working with many people and organizations to produce a Community Assessment for Ottawa and Allegan County every three years. From the research done as part of the assessment, United Way has identified three impact areas where we focus our work: Education, Health and Financial Stability.

Through the Community Investment (CI) process, United Way funds programs run by local nonprofit organizations located in Allegan and Ottawa Counties.

We also collaborate and develop initiatives, programs, and collaboratives to identify and meet needs not addressed by currently existing programs funded in the CI process.
