MEET THE 2019-2020 CAMPAIGN CHAIR: Michael MacPherson
Michael MacPherson has served in many capacities throughout Ottawa County with an emphasis on early childhood education, supporting children with physical disabilities in mobility and independence, connecting people and community resources, and financial stability. He has volunteered for Greater Ottawa County United Way on the Finance Committee for more than five years, and as Board Member, Board Chair, and currently as Past Chair.
With a bachelor’s degree in both Management and Communications from Hope College, Michael is passionate about improving lives and strengthening communities, especially in the consumer and small business sectors. Michael is currently Senior Vice President and Retail District Manager in the Lakeshore area for Huntington Bank, where he has worked for more than 16 years. He is also a 2019 graduate of the CBA Executive Banking School.
Michael’s passion for early childhood education was fostered by his wife, Jamie MacPherson, who was an elementary educator for 13 years, and their three children - Grayson and Hudson, 9 and Addison, 4. Jamie is now a Learning Solutions Specialist at Van Andel Education Institute and will be supporting the United Way campaign with Michael.
The MacPhersons are honored to lead the Greater Ottawa County United Way campaign and truly appreciate the opportunity to help represent those who give, advocate and volunteer to make a powerful and positive impact in our community and beyond.
