More than 400 kids received backpacks as a result of Stuff the Bus drive

Greater Ottawa County United Way is proud to announce that $22,000 worth of school supplies and backpacks were collected during the fifth annual Stuff the Bus school supply drive. The collection took place from July 24 – August 7 at locations throughout Ottawa County.

During the month of August, 407 backpacks full of school supplies were distributed to local students at the Grand Haven and Holland Salvation Army locations. If you know a student in grades K-12 in need of a backpack and school supplies, please contact the Holland Salvation Army at (616) 392-4461 or the Grand Haven Salvation Army at (616) 842-3380.

Stuff the Bus is a collaboration of Greater Ottawa County United Way, The Salvation Army and Grand Haven Area Public Schools. Two Men and a Truck supplies the collection boxes and helps drop off and pick up boxes during the drive.

Companies that hosted public collection sites included: A.D. Bos Vending Services, Inc., Automatic Spring Products, City of Grand Haven, Consumers Energy, Dake, Davenport University, Fifth Third Bank, Flex, GHSP, Grand Haven Custom Molding, Grand Haven Township, Heartwood Lodge, Holland Museum, JR Automation, JSJ Corporation, Loutit District Library, Macatawa Bank, Mercantile Bank, North Ottawa Community Health System, PADNOS, SAF Holland, Seppo Chiropractic, Shape Corp., South Shore Plaza, Tennant, Transmatic, Tyson Foods, Inc., USFC, WHTC and Woodward.
