Thank you to our dedicated Day of Caring volunteers!
On Thursday, September 19, Greater Ottawa County United Way hosted its annual Day of Caring event. More than 650 volunteers teamed up to help local nonprofit organizations with 45 projects around the county throughout the day. Vice President of Volunteer Engagement Shannon LaHaie Behm said, “Our volunteer teams and nonprofit organizations look forward to Day of Caring each year. This event is an opportunity to give back, build teamwork and have fun. This year, local nonprofit agencies received $91,846 in labor support from 65 groups of volunteers throughout the day. We are thankful for the support of our generous community on this day and all year round.”
Each year, Camp Geneva generously donates space at their pavillion for a volunteer appreciation lunch, with food (and grilling skills!) donated by A.D. Bos Vending Services and Tyson Foods.
The next Day of Caring event will take place on Thursday, September 17, 2020.
