MEET THE CAMPAIGN CHAIRS: Kristen and P.J. Thompson
P.J. is the President of Trans-Matic Manufacturing which was founded and is owned by the Thompson family since 1968. Active in the West Michigan business community P.J. serves on private company boards and has a passion for workforce development. P.J. was a founding director of Talent 2025 and has actively participated in the Holland Model Communities Initiative. Recently, he served as national chairman of the Precision Metal Forming Association.
P.J. was a founding member of the Corpus Christi Catholic Foundation and has served as a volunteer counselor for the Ottawa County Center for Mental Health.
Kristen enjoys her work as an independent contractor providing corporate relocation services. For 17 years she has assisted new families by helping them acclimate to West Michigan. Kristen further supports our community by serving as a board member for area non profit organizations. Currently she serves on the Corpus Christi Foundation board of directors.
Quality, early reading education is close to Kristen’s heart. She believes reading is critical to a child’s future success and self confidence. She has volunteered for March of Dimes, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, the HOSTS reading program at Heart of West Michigan United Way and was a member of United Way’s Women’s Leadership Council.
Kristen holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Western Michigan University as well as a Michigan real estate license.
Kristen and P.J. are pleased to serve as the chairs of Greater Ottawa County United Way’s 2016-17 community campaign. They are committed to United Way’s vison that all individuals in Ottawa County achieve their full potential. They have embraced the Live United concept that anyone can give, advocate or volunteer to be a part of creating a stronger community. Kristen and P.J. live in Holland and are members of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church.
